Rec 4 trailer

There aren’t too many really hot horror series coming out of foreign countries, but we’re really into the [REC] series out of Spain–which got one American remake of the first film, but has really thrived more in its homeland. Now we get a trailer for [REC]4: Apocalypse, which is mainly notable for ditching the series’ run as found-footage films.

You still get a strong female lead, though, and what looks to be promising mayhem. And we know that these are technically not zombies. Nobody’s really too sure what the deal is with the rampaging evil hordes of the [REC] movies. The original notion seemed to be that they were people transformed into demons, but this new [REC] seems to treat it more like some kind of outbreak.

It’s an outbreak on a ship, though, and that looks pretty cool. We’re just glad that we probably won’t have to watch this new [REC] in a drive-in. A movie always looks kind of dark on a drive-in screen, and this is already the darkest trailer that we’ve seen in a long time…
