Quentin Tarantino is doing another hardcore western and you’ll get to see a very bloody sneak preview of it when you go to the theater to see Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For.
Deadline reports that Robert Rodriguez’s Sin City 2 will feature a short preview of Tarantino’s new gritty western The Hateful Eight. The interesting part is that Tarantino hasn’t even started shooting his new movie. So exactly what will be included in a teaser trailer will remain to be seen when Sin City 2 opens in theaters on Aug. 22nd. He’ll probably have some really basic establishing shots that show just how bloody of a western he can make–or maybe just an animation of the imagery from the Hateful Eight poster above.
Of course, this is more than just a trailer and a partnership stemming from his longtime friendship with fellow filmmaker Rodriguez. It’s also a big slap in the face to the people who said he’d never get his movie off the ground. An agent of one of the actors cast in the film leaked the script on the Internet and that launched a massive lawsuit in fear that his movie would be forever spoiled. So releasing a teaser trailer this earlier is a big dolt slap to everyone who almost tanked it before it got a chance to get off the ground.
We’re just glad we finally have an excuse to tell our girlfriends and wives that we’re going to see Sin City 2 to see the new trailer, and definitely not to watch Jessica Alba dance like a stripper.
