Chicago Fans The Stripper

The Chicago Blackhawks have had a very successful “Shoot the Puck” contest going on during their games–and while the contest is going on, the classic David Rose instrumental “The Stripper” would play. However, those days are now over as the team has announced that they will no longer play the song during the contest after a fan petition got nearly 900 signatures to eliminate it.

This is one of those times that the fans decide to show that they matter. If the fans don’t want to see something on the ice anymore, they are going to say so and have it eliminated. The petition also wants the team to change how female fans are selected for the competition. It’s usually the best-looking woman that is found in the crowd.

There could be many more changes coming but at least for the time being–the biggest one will be the song that is played. Maybe the Blackhawks can find a song that appeals to both men and women in the process. That may be easier said than done, though, as more fans speak up about what is being shown on the ice and heard around the arena. But here’s a video featuring “The Stripper” that might not offend too many people…
