Guardians of the Galaxy became a huge hit, even though it was based on a third-tier group of comic book characters. That’s given Marvel the confidence to roll out the red carpet for some of their slightly more well known but still obscure comic book properties like The Inhumans.

Collider reported Marvel plans to adapt the comic book supergroup created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby as its next big summer blockbuster. Vin Diesel, who provides the voice of Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy, first dropped a hint on his Facebook page that The Inhumans might be the next movie franchise Marvel Studios is planning to develop and inside sources confirmed that information.

It also sounds like Diesel might have a part in the new Marvel movie but no one has confirmed any casting decisions. All we know so far is that the studio has a script that it likes and plans to shop around to filmmakers to see if anyone is interested in making it.

The Inhumans is pretty much a second-tier group of X-Men with heroes like the Black Bolt, Medusa, Karnak and Gorgon. There is bound to be a lot of interest in who gets cast as who and just how faithful the movie will be to the comic book just like every other comic book movie that’s come out before it.

This one, however, has some interesting wrinkles. For instance, there might be a chance that some heroes we’ve seen before at the movies could make a return to this one like Quicksilver who made his big screen debut in X-Men: Days of Future Past. Also, guys who have a fetish for redheads are sure to scrutinize the hell out of Medusa’s outfit when the first images leak at an upcoming Comic-Con. We’re just happy that a new hot superhero in a skin tight uniform is coming back to the big screen.
