Somebody by the name of Kirk Minihan–a WEEI radio host–is in deep trouble trouble. But before we begin grabbing our pitchforks and torches, let’s back up a bit.
I don’t know if you heard or not but last night was Derek Jeter aka The Captain’s last MLB All-Star Appearance, so Adam Wainwright (starting pitcher of the St. Louis Cardinals and last night’s National League Team) somewhat-mistakenly thought it would be a good idea to “groove” a few pitches down the middle for Jeets to hit. Even worse, he admitted this on national television.
Understandably, some fans were pretty upset about it. No one ever relaxes when it comes to Derek Jeter. Naturally, Erin Andrews who was covering the MLB All-Star Game for FOX headed over to Wainwright to clear things up. Here’s what they said:
Personally, I’m not too sure why so many people reacted so negatively (they did) about Erin Andrews’ comment about “don’t you just love social media,” because I truly believe that a lot of professional athletes HATE IT. But it’s something they have to live with.
Enter professional d*uchebag shock jock radio host for WEEI who had this to offer about Erin Andrews:
If you don’t want to watch the whole video, here’s the written version of it:
“We appreciate you clearing that up. “Don’t you love social media?” No, I don’t love social media. I hate her! what a gutless bitch! Go away. Drop dead. I mean, seriously what the hell is wrong with her? First of all, follow-up. Second of all, the guy admitted he did it. He admit he told reporters he threw a couple of pipe bombs. How is that social media’s fault? I hate her. Don’t you love social media? Yeah…social media is — shut up. shut up. i’m sure she’s a nice person, but she’s…she’s probably a bitch. I hate her.”
Newsflash, bro, FOX Sports protects Erin Andrews like a franchise quarterback. Yes, she can get a little annoying at times but there’s a reason she’s on television and you’re on radio. She’s hot. You’re a dude.
Even if that wasn’t the case, Kirk Minihan went above and beyond the call of shock jock radio by doing this. My guess is that you can expect an apology tomorrow.
The most ironic part is that OF COURSE people took to social media to talk about this.
