Courtney Love is turning 50 years old today–and the veteran rocker has some big news, since it’s just been announced that she’s showing up in the final season of FX’s Sons of Anarchy.
You might assume that the producers of the fine FX drama chose Love because of her constant drugged-out look and frequently crazed behavior. Just think of the money they’ll save on makeup and wardrobe, right? Instead, the former Hole frontwoman has been tapped to play a school teacher. She’s going to step into the show as Mrs. Harrison, a pre-school teacher who watches Jax’s son Abel. According to some early runs of the scripts, she will be part of a multi-story arc in which Jax falls for Abel’s teacher and catches the ire of Abel’s mother and Jax’s estranged wife Wendy.
So expect some super brutal, grade-A cat fighting to go down during the show’s final season when it starts in the Fall. Seriously, this show is f*&%ing brutal. We’ve seen autopsy videos that held back more.
Love will be just one of a handful of celebrities cast to the star in the long running drama’s final season. Rocker Marilyn Manson will play white supremacist Ron Tully, who teams up with Jax to help him retain control of his empire. Walton Goggins, star of FX’s The Shield and Justified, will also return for the final season as transgender prostitute Venus Van Damme–a character who’s become one of the show’s funniest characters, and not just because we’re watching what appears to be Justified‘s Shane Vandrell in drag.
