Yeah, we know that Claire Holt doesn’t really count as an immortal spirit now that she’s left the Vampire Diaries‘ spinoff of The Originals, but that’s still the role that made her a big deal to guys–and remains the role that everyone remembers Claire for here in the States. And yet she’s turning 26 years old today after leaving one of The CW’s few solidly successful series.
It’s still impressive that Claire Holt stayed in the role of Rebekah Mikaelson for as long as she did. Remember that episode where the thousands-year-old vampire explained the importance of attending her Homecoming dance? That couldn’t have been easy for Claire. It was still a step up from the first season of Pretty Little Liars, which is where you could’ve found Claire before she vamped her way into the Vampire Diaries cast.
Before that, Claire was just another hot Australian actress who–like fellow Vampire Diaries and Originals star Phoebe Tonkin–was putting her tweener stardom behind her. The two were even both cast members of the kiddie mermaid show H2O: Just Add Water. Anyway, those two sure chose the right show to prove they were all grown up.
We’re not sure what Claire Holt will be heading into next, but she’s made a very important contribution to sexy vampire culture, and even managed it while competing against pay-cable kinkiness of HBO. Check out these pcis to see why we’re looking forward to checking out more of Claire’s career…
