Luke Bigham Young Ricky Bobby

The actor who played a young Ricky Bobby in the Will Ferrell movie Talladega Nights: The Story of Ricky Bobby is facing some reckless driving charges.

Police in Trussville, Alabama charged actor Luke Bigham with a criminal charge of reckless driving. According to police reports, he was driving his Lexus GS350 at 80 mph in a 35 mph zone and crashed his car into another vehicle. The accident caused a chain reaction that wrecked a total of five cars. Bigham was injured in the accident and required medical attention at a hospital. Following his release, he turned himself over to the authorities where he received a misdemeanor charge for reckless driving. The jail released him after processing his criminal charge.

Bigham is best known for playing a 10-year-old Ricky Bobby in Talladega Nights. According to his IMDB page, Bigham also had a small, two-episode role on the HBO series produced by Will Ferrell Eastbound and Down. His scene in Talladega Nights occurred towards the beginning of the film when Ricky’s father Reese shows up for a career day at his elementary school…

It’s nice to see that lil’ Ricky finally got to go fast. It’s just too bad that the place he ended up going was the hospital and then jail. We’re coping with the pain by imagining that his daddy was just trying to teach him to go fast by taping a bag of Lucky Charms under the wheel well of his car and telling the cops that it was a kilo of “Columbian bam-bam.”
