Renowned biochemist, pharmacologist, and psychopharmacologist Alexander Shulgin died “surrounded by friends and family” last night at the age of 88. Considering that he is credited with introducing MDMA to psychologists, you could say that he’s officially the first person to ever “find Molly.”
The news was first released on the Twitter account of Erowid, aka the best source for all things psychedelic.
Alexander was without a doubt the most important pioneer when it came to synthesizing (and testing) modern day psychedelics, but you can rest easily knowing that today’s young chemists will continue in his work. Perhaps they’ll soon invent something that makes Nu Metal enjoyable. For now, I’ll leave you with two young women who have taken Alexander’s death especially hard.
