I know what you’re thinking, punk. You’re thinking, “Did he fire six shots or only five?” Now, to tell you the truth, I forgot myself in all this excitement. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and will blow you head clean off–you’ve gotta ask yourself a question: “Do I feel lucky?” Well, do ya, punk?
The ultimate model of masculinity for several decades, Clint Eastwood is the very definition of a living legend. Forget that stupid reality show starring his family. Forget the empty chair. Forget J. Edgar. This is the Man With No Name. Dirty Harry. Josey Wales. Philo Beddoe. Bill Munny. In other words, the biggest badass in cinema history, and he turns 84 today.
It’s hard to believe, but Eastwood really only has 66 acting credits to his name in the nearly sixty years he’s been acting. That’s partly because Eastwoood was a bit of a late bloomer . He didn’t make his screen debut until the age of 25 in 1955’s Revenge of the Creature. (That’s part of the Creature of the Black Lagoon series.)
Today, Eastwood is probably better known for his work behind the camera than in front of it, having won two Oscars for directing in the last twenty years. In fact, he’s still going strong with the musical bio Jersey Boys set to be released on June 20.
So while you damn kids are making your way off of his lawn, why not reminisce with some of Clint’s best screen moments…
