There are frat stars all around us. At our colleges, parties and most definitely in our TV shows and movies. Fraternities have long been portrayed in the media and there’s been thousands of actors who have played frat boys, however only a select few can make it into the true legendary and elite squad. Let’s hope Zac Efron’s character from Neighbors makes it into our list next year.
Until then, here are COED’s 10 frattiest characters of all time in all their glory…
10. Ogre – Revenge of the Nerds
Ogre from Revenge of the Nerds is easily one of the frattiest bros ever portrayed, hell-bent on the nerds going down. Ogre epitomizes the jock side of the frat guy mentality–even though he does soften up in the sequel. If you haven’t seen either Revenge of the Nerds yet, get on it. NERDS!
Frattiest Quote: “Nerds!”
9. Sulley – Monsters University
Okay, so maybe we’re just huge fans of Monsters University, but Sulley posses all the qualities of a contender for one of the frattiest characters ever. He’s not even a frat star. This dude is a Frat Monster who basically runs the show when it comes to his fraternity.
Frattiest Quote: “I’m gonna wipe the floor with that little know-it-all.”
8. Otter – Animal House
You can’t talk about college movies without including the most epic and iconic college movie of all time: Animal House. Otter is the resident smooth-talking frat boy, and goes down in frat history when he hooks up with the Dean’s wife. Bro hard, Otter, you set the standard for many fraternities to come.
Frattiest Quote: “But you can’t hold a whole fraternity responsible for the behavior of a few, sick perverted individuals.”
7. Chris – Night of the Creeps
Do yourself a favor and check out Night of the Creeps. It combines aliens, axe-wielding killers, zombies, nudity, and drunken fraternity dudes. Chris takes the cake for being a gun-toting badass, who straight up owns everyone in this cult classic favorite from the 80s.
Frattiest Quote: “I believe you’re allowed to break the commandments in certain situations.”
6. Blue – Old School
The oldest and frattiest guy on here from the amazing and instant classic Old School will always be legendary. Blue has more commitment and gumption than most people half his age. Sadly he dies in one of the most bro-possible ways by wrestling two topless girls in KY Jelly. Check out “The Best of Blue in Old School.”
Best Quote: “Just ring the f**king bell, you pansy.”
5. Thad – Blue Mountain State
Thad from Blue Mountain State lives in his own insane world. And we love him for it. Thad’s definitely not the most likable frat bro, but he definitely fits a certain image of how frat dudes can be. The cult show–which was cancelled–is going to be a movie very soon thanks to Kickstarter. We’ll get to see Thad being Thad one more time.
Frattiest Quote: “I measured with my d**k!”
4. Cappie – Greek
Although the show Greek is kind of a lame teen show on ABC Family, the character of “Cappie” is definitively one of the better frat guys in recent history. Always drunk, giving speeches and hooking up with women, Cappie makes frat guys across the world proud.
Frattiest Quote: “Drunk people don’t feel pain! And neither do Scotsmen!”
3. Droz – PCU
This early 90s classic about the party frat on fictional college PCU’s campus, “The Pit,” is great. PCU is a quintessential college flick, and the highlight of the movie is definitely Jeremy Piven’s hilarious character of “Droz.” This was the first time we got to see a young Piven showing us what future Ari Gold was going to be like on Entourage.
Frattiest Quote: “What’s this? You’re wearing the shirt of the band you’re going to see? Don’t be that guy.”
2. Frank the Tank – Old School
Old School is definitely the only other movie that’s up there with Animal House when it comes to a movie about a rowdy and rambunctious fraternity . Will Ferrell’s lovable and goofy character, Frank the Tank, went down in history when he decided to go streaking through the quad and into the gymnasium. This is perhaps Will Ferrell’s greatest role ever. Also this might be the best scene.
Best Quote: “Blue, you’re my boy!”
1. Bluto – Animal House
Once again, if you haven’t ever seen the most iconic frat movie of all time: Animal House, shame on you. All you need to do is watch this scene. Also, in case you didn’t go to college, John Belushi’s image is in every guy’s dormitory ever, next to his poster of Bob Marley and his rack of empty alcohol handles.
Frattiest Quote: “And it ain’t over now. ‘Cause when the goin’ gets tough . . . the tough get goin’! Who’s with me? Let’s go! C’mon!”
