See Her Tonight
Nikki Estridge on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
(9:00 PM EST, NBC)
The networks are in the midst of a Sweeps ratings period. That usually means that your See Her Tonight column is busy looking for special guest stars of the feminine variety. It’s also a good time to stumble on lesbian storylines, because those still seem popular for some reason. However, certain shows are also using Sweeps to set up other storylines. For example, tonight’s Supernatural is mostly about an upcoming spin-off series, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit is laying the groundwork for changes in the show–which we sure hope includes adding tough gal Nikki Estridge as a permanent character.
Actually, we’re not sure what to expect from Nikki Estridge’s character of Detective Delano, but she has the same tough sex appeal as SVU’s Mariska Hargitay. Nikki also has the build of a gal who looks ready to kick ass–which she proved when she made her debut in the short film Cyclone. That fun grindhouse tribute marked the former college athlete’s move from selling medical supplies to hitting Hollywood hard. We’d like to say that the studios were quick to pick up on Nikki’s offbeat beauty and imposing presence.
Instead, Nikki mostly kept laboring in underseen shorts and working as a fitness model who looked really natural in sports outfits. There was also a really embarrassing Nightmare on Elm Street knock-off called SoulMate that’s better forgotten. We’re not sure how Nikki managed to fight her way into our living rooms tonight, but we’re sure ready to tune in tonight. Now check out these pics that’ll get you hoping Nikki is the start of a new L&O franchise..
