Amanda Seyfried just signed on to the new Warner Bros. Peter Pan movie for the role of Mary–and is the Woman Who Won The Week.
The film is set to begin shooting next week with a cast that includes Levi Miller (Peter Pan), Hugh Jackman (Pirate Blackbeard), Garrett Hedlund (Captain Hook) and Rooney Mara (Tiger Lily). The plot of the new movie will be a little different from the classic children’s story. It is set during World War II, and is about an orphan who gets brought to Neverland to defeat Blackbeard.
In the original Peter Pan, Mary is Wendy’s mother. It would make sense for there to be no Wendy in the movie since Seyfried is 28. So how does Mary fit in with this orphan? Will the new Peter Pan movie feature scenes of Nazis getting blown up? Maybe a Nazi could get brought back to Neverland and eaten by that big crocodile? Guess we’ll have to wait for the movie’s release in 2015.
