Yeah, Joan Jett fronted Nirvana at last night’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. It was also the first year that regular people were allowed to attend the event, and you know the riff-raff were whipping out their cameras and shooting footage that isn’t supposed to be seen until the show airs on HBO. Do you think Kurt Cobain would approve? Well, he wouldn’t have let himself get caught disapproving. So here’s Joan and the gang doing “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” Lorde and Kim Gordon also stepped up to the mic, as did Annie Clark–she who is St. Vincent, of course.

And here’s some more fun video of Nirvana’s actual induction at the ceremony. The footage above is shot off a screen. The footage below is strictly from the cheap seats–but you can hear Courtney Love getting booed by some folks. That’ll probably get edited out from the HBO footage. We like these guys who shot the video, too. We wouldn’t have minded sitting next to them….
