When Andrew Wiggins decided to play for the Kansas Jayhawks this season, a lot of experts believed that it would be his only year there. Now the University of Kansas has announced a news conference set for today, and it’s likely that Wiggins will make an announcement that he’s entering the NBA Draft this June–which means the next question is just how high he’ll go in that draft.
His teammate Joel Emblid could be the No. 1 pick, but Emblid hasn’t announced yet what his plans are. There are also players like Julius Randle, Jabari Parker and Marcus Smart who haven’t announced their intentions, and could decide to jump to the NBA as well. Wiggins is still probably a top-5 pick no matter what.
Will it be a smart move? There is only one way to find out and that is when Wiggins hits the professional floor this coming October. Kansas will need to be looking for the next Wiggins right away.
