Apparently, the folks at Rifftrax like us a lot here at COED because they’ve given us an exclusive sneak preview of their upcoming Total Riff Off on the National Geographic Channel on April Fools Day.
The three-hour marathon will consist of Rifftrax and Mystery Science Theater 3000 stars Mike Nelson, Bill Corbett and Kevin Murphy taking down classic nature documentaries and National Geographic Channels originals. They plan to tackle shows like Swamp Men and Demon Bat with their shark tooth-esque wit in which they have an endless row of super sharp jokes and jabs to throw at the screen until its as bloody one of the demon bat’s slumbering victims. Here’s just a tasty of the hilarity that will ensue on Tuesday, April 1st as Mike, Bill and Kevin take on an episode of the nature reality series Swamp Men.
Those of you who aren’t familiar with Rifftrax are in for a treat. The movie and TV riffing crew talk back to mainstream and subpar B-movies like Transformers and Captain America to lesser known, lower budget films with special audio tracks that are synced to the films they are ridiculing. This latest Rifftrax marathon starts at 8 p.m. Eastern with an hour-long block of shows dedicated to Killer Shrimp ‘N Friends followed by the deadly Demon Bat special at 9 p.m. and concluding with something called Guy and a Goose at 10 p.m. We really hope that last one is just a poorly worded euphemism for some other kind of man-human relationship and not because of the high potential for jokes that such a show would inspire.
