Say Hello to the Man Who Demanded 100 Retweets at Gunpoint

Police have arrested 20-year-old Los Angeles resident Dakkari Dijon McAnuff after he threatened to shoot a random pedestrian if his Twitter post was retweeted a hundred times. The Los Angeles Times reports that McAnuff has now been booked on suspicion of making criminal threats.

The investigation began on Wednesday after the police were notified about a photo on twitter. The photo showed a rifle pointed at street with the caption, “100 [retweets] and I’ll shoot someone walking.” Which actually sounds more like McAnuff was threatening to shoot people if he got retweets, but it’s entirely possible that the guy just got confused while posting.

Thankfully, the police were able to link the absolutely terrible person–that being McAnuff–to the Twitter account. He was arrested Wednesday. The police later confirmed the weapon to be an air rifle. Please don’t ever let this guy anywhere near an actual real gun. Even though his original Twitter account was deleted, he has since gotten a new handle. This is all a reminder that most people shouldn’t be allowed to get anywhere near Social Media. People take selfies at accidents and ask for RTs to clearly do very dumb things. Let’s add this to the ever-growing list of stupid tweets that are out there in the Twitterverse, proving that as a species we may, in fact, being growing dumber by the day. That’s how we were able to build the collection right here of lamest moments and (hopefully) just a few subtle gags….
