Jim Harbaugh is someone who isn’t afraid to speak his mind about things. The Cleveland Browns made a run at Harbaugh in the offseason in trying to trade for the San Francisco 49ers coach, and there have been reports that Harbaugh isn’t happy in San Francisco. He tried to end those rumors in an interview with Sports Illustrated saying that he just wants to coach the team and doesn’t want any more power.
The problem is that sooner than later Harbaugh is going to end up leaving San Francisco. He has taken the 49ers to three straight NFC Championship games, and would love to be the highest-paid coach in all of the NFL but it simply isn’t happening now. If things continue to be rocky in San Francisco, this could easily be Harbaugh’s last year down by the bay.
There are some very unkind winds blowing between Harbaugh and general manager Trent Baalke which are going to lead to a breakup. For now, though, the rumors will continue.
