The day is finally upon us! Happy National Pig Day!
National Pig Day was founded by sisters Ellen Stanley and Mary Lynne Rave in 1972. The founders intended this day to “accord the pig its rightful, though generally unrecognized, place as one of man’s most intellectual and domesticated animals.” Too often in life we take the things we love for granted, which is why you should take some time and think about all the great things pigs have given you.
When thinking about the bounty that the pig has given to man, bacon should be the first thing to come to mind. We all love bacon, and it’s only natural to celebrate this great food on National Pig Day. There is hardly anything in this world that cannot be made better by adding bacon. On this most sacred day, we present to you 120 things that are a little more awesome when bacon is added.
