Wichita State Wins Their 30th Straight Game

The Wichita State Shockers continue to do what their team name says. The Shockers became the first team in over two decades to begin a season 30-0 with a 69-49 win over Bradley on Tuesday night–and have just one regular season game to go trying to enter the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament undefeated. No team has got through the regular season undefeated in a decade.
There is no disputing that the story of the Shockers is a great one. They made the Final Four last season and have taken that momentum into the 2013-14 college basketball season. Can they actually go undefeated though and win the national championship? That is going to be very hard to do, and it would almost help them to lose before the NCAA Tournament begins.
They will likely be a No. 1 seed in the tournament and that will bring its own pressure as well. It’s a great story for college basketball and it appears the latest mid-major dynasty is getting started in Wichita, Kansas. How long will the Shockers survive this season will be answered soon.
