The nominees are out for the 2014 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, and they mainly prove that we have a lot in common with 5th graders. Seriously, we’re more in line with these kids than with the Oscars. Did Iron Man 3 get an Academy Award nomination for Best Film? Nope, but there it is nominated for Favorite Movie at the 2014 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. We’re also big fans of Phineas & Ferb and Adventure Time, and those have a Favorite Cartoon nomination. The nominations for Favorite Movie Actress include Mila Kunis and Jennifer Lawrence. Check out those links to see why the big boys of COED are big fans of those gals.

Jena Malone also joins Jennifer Lawrence in the competition for Favorite Female Buttkicker. Much respect for that–not to mention Selena Gomez and Katy Perry competing for Favorite Singer. And guess who’s getting a big push from the kids on Twitter for Favorite TV Actress? That would be Ariana Grande, who showed us how grown up she’d become at the American Music Awards last year.

Ariana may be the one frontrunner at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards that grown-up guys haven’t appreciated yet. She’s nominated for the kiddie show Sam & Cat, but Ariana has grown up into a big gal–just like Victoria Justice, who was Ariana’s old costar on the Victorious television show. If you haven’t caught up to Ariana, do it now. It’s okay if you don’t vote for her, though.

We don’t watch Sam & Cat, either, so we can’t really judge the show. We’d appreciate it if you’d join us in helping Richard Sherman win in the Most Enthusiastic Athlete category, though. That’d scare some parents–but first, take some time to know Ariana Grande…
