CeeLo Green Is Gone From "The Voice" [VIDEO]

CeeLo announced his decision to leave The Voice on Ellen DeGeneres’ show today–which still hasn’t aired in some parts of the country. He was one of the original members of the coaches’ panel on NBC’s “blind” singing competition, and CeeLo had already taken off seasons 4 and 6–in addition to having already announced his plan of sitting out the upcoming season. There’s lots of speculations over reasons for his departur–varying from  future work on other NBC ventures (including a TV show development deal), as well as possible other talk show opportunities later in the year.
CeeLo might also just not want to wear out his welcome on the show,or he could just want to start working on what would be his first album in four years.
Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and late night programming at NBC, issued the following statement:  “CeeLo Green has been an instrumental part of the success of ‘The Voice’ and we deeply appreciate all his contributions. We’re looking forward to working with him on other upcoming projects that will tap into both his musical and entertainment expertise.”
It is unclear at this time if Usher will permanently replace CeeLo or not, but chances are likely that he will.
Anyone wanting more CeeLo can find him on the season finale of Animal Planet’s Treehouse Masters this Friday, February 21st. In the meantime, say goodbye to great (or weird) moments from The Voice like this…
