The hottest snowboarders of the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi are a real paradox because they also manage to be really cool as well. It should come as no surprise that one of the most popular winter sports in the world is getting so much press in the Winter Olympics, especially when you’ve got ladies like Norway’s Silje Norendal, The US’s Hannah Teter, Switzerland’s Nadja Purtschert, just to name a few.
The Ladies’ Slopestyle was the first snowboarding event in Sochi (US Jamie Anderson took gold) so we’ve already gotten a good first look at the competition. Luckily one of our favorites, Silje Norendal of the 2013 Winter X Games, hasn’t even placed yet so there’s still plenty to look forward to. The Ladies Halfpipe begins on February 12th, Snowboard Cross on February 16th, and the first Slalom events on February 19th.
