Miley Cyrus took her clothes off for W magazine, and we’re happy to report that she doesn’t look anything like Justin Bieber. Remember that internet meme from last week? With the mug shot of Justin Bieber? Well, we’re not going to link to that because we don’t want to be thinking of Justin Bieber right now. And these amazing new pics from the upcoming March issue of W magazine will put that behind you, too.
Instead, you’ll want to get behind Miley making yet another amazing transformation. W magazine is a pretty class act, so they weren’t going to put some twerking hussy on the cover. We’re still impressed that Miley didn’t just grab herself something demure from a major designer. These pics are as daring as ever, and you can be sure that lots of guys will want to get the actual magazine when it hits the shelves.
You can also be sure that Kanye West is going to start bitching at Vogue editor Anna Wintour more than ever about putting Kim Karadashian on the cover of that respected fashion magazine. He’s going to be really outraged that a gal like Miley can take off her clothes and still be considered classy enough for W. It helps that Miley is doffing her clothes to accompany an interview by Ronan Farrow–who’s currently a big favorite of the New York intelligentsia as the anchor of his own show on MSNBC.
Ronan certainly gets a compelling quote from Miley about how she’s seeking to influence fashion: “I just don’t get what half the girls are wearing. Everyone to me seems like Vanna White. I’m trying to tell girls, like, ‘F**k that. You don’t have to wear makeup. You don’t have to have long blonde hair and big titties. That’s not what it’s about. It’s, like, personal style.’ I like that I’m associated with sexuality and the kind of punk-rock sh*t where we just don’t care. Like Madonna or Blondie or Joan Jett–Jett’s the one that I still get a little shaky around. She did what I did in such a crazier way. I mean, girls then weren’t supposed to wear leather pants and, like, f**king rock out. And she did.”
Ronan doesn’t think to tell Miley about the history of hot rock ‘n roll femmes before Joan Jett. There were a lot, but W is all about the here and now. We’re certainly right here for what the mag’s done with Miley. Enjoy the full article, and then check out our favorite Miley GIFs for a more animated side of this fascinating gal…
