Scarlett Johansson has a new commercial for SodaStream that’s too sexy for the Super Bowl! Or that’s what we’re supposed to say here. That certainly sounds…um, sexier than the truth–which is that Scarlett Johansson was really just banned for saying some four-letter words. Specifically, Scarlett sympathetically says, “Sorry, Coke and Pepsi,” in the assumption that those companies are now doomed in the wake of SodaStream.
That’s at the actual end of the SodaStream commercial, and the Super Bowl powers-that-be didn’t like the idea of SodaStream being so confrontational to those advertising monoliths. Which is okay, because it’s better to have a banned Super Bowl commercial getting plenty of hits on Youtube than having to actually spend a few million bucks to advertise on the Super Bowl.
Also, there will probably be some rumors of this commercial being banned for being too sexy. It’ll sound reasonable to some folks, even if Scarlett Johansson would never really rank up there with our All-Time 25 Sexiest Women in Super Bowl Commercials. At least not in this commercial–which makes us think that this may be a genuinely banned Super Bowl commercial, as opposed to spots for PETA and GoDaddy which are purposely made to get “banned” for publicity purposes.
So we’re still very interested in SodaStream, even if we are a little intimidated by the idea of a soda that we have to assemble. Coke and Pepsi might very well be able to survive in a world that’s full of people who are as lazy as ourselves. But we’re also generous, and ready to provide plenty of hot Scarlett Johansson GIFs below–that should really get you animated, since Scarlett really keeps her clothes on in that Super Bowl spot…
