The first trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is out, and it seems to be about how Caesar needs a receptionist. See, we’re in that post-apocalyptic landscape where the apes became all intelligent just as a plague began to wipe out mankind. Now there’s a ragtag group of survivors whose main purpose right now is to take up a lot of the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes trailer. The CGI probably isn’t finished to showcase the apes more in this Dawn trailer, but the hype really has to begin before the end of 2013.
Anyway, the trailer is still enough to keep Dawn of the Planet of the Apes at the top of our Most Anticipated Movies of 2014. We’re obviously in a final battle mode where the humans have one last chance to keep the apes from taking over. The bulk of this trailer follows a guy as he ventures into the woods and shouts out for whoever’s in charge of this crazy upside-down planet. The guys’s probably seeking a truce–and the trailer’s final image gives you an idea that we’ll get a proper sci-fi war movie out of this.
But, as noted, you’re not seeing much ape action now. That’s okay. We weren’t expecting another big moment like that gorilla jumping onto the helicopter like in Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Remember that one? There’s a reminder below. We bet we’ll see something that cool when the CGI gets finished and the next Dawn trailer comes out. There probably won’t be any helicopters, though. If the humans in this Dawn trailer had a helicopter, they’d have gotten the hell out of there by now..
