What’s on Tap This Weekend: 21st Amendment Brewery “Brew Free or Die IPA”

‚ By

Happy Repeal Day! That’s right booze fans, 12/5/1933 is the day that Prohibition was officially repealed. So grab a drink (or 5) and raise a glass to our forefathers who knew beer was “proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy!”

To me, 12/5 is another holiday–my father’s birthday! To any guy, his dad is his hero, mentor, friend, and drinking buddy. Wheezy (what I call my dad–his name is Wayne) is everything a post-college, young professional, working man could want in a father. So along with saluting the repeal of prohibition, here’s to Señor Beer Professor! I know of no brewery more apropos for today than 21st Amendment Brewery’s Brew Free or Die IPA. It’s “What’s on Tap!

As Jim Morrison said, “The west is the best.” And when it comes to beer (especially IPAs), he’s spot on. 21st Amendment Brewery, in San Francisco, brews nothing but fantastic beers and their Brew Free or Die IPA might be their finest. Full of hops, malt, and citrus, this IPA has everything including drinkability. Brew Free or Die IPA is one of my go-to desert island brew.

Tonight I’m enjoying 21st Amendment with a Bison Burger because nothing says ‘Murica like a West Coast IPA and the meat of a once endangered species of our nation. Put some feta cheese on that bad boy and you got yourself a burger! But tonight, of all nights, enjoy your beer and be thankful that you no longer have to pay Nucky Thompson your firstborn just to take a sip!

And Happy Birthday Wheezy, love you.
