Alka-Seltzer: 82 Years of Hangovers & Pranks [VIDEOS]
Is there a better miracle drug than Alka-Seltzer? All it takes is two foaming pills to relieve stomach distress or a hangover–which is particularly valuable considering how often we get drunk and then end up eating several bags of White Castle (or Krystal’s, when in the South) before passing out and waking up with a throbbing head and expanding gut. December 3rd marks 82 years of Alka-Seltzer being available to ailing guys, and we hate to think of what our forefathers used to do back in the early 1900s after they stopped by White Castle. Or Krystal’s, when in the South.
Of course, drunk people can’t stare at an Alka-Seltzer package without getting all kinds of interesting ideas. Check out these videos below for a look at how Alka-Seltzer has inspired grand experiments and great pranks. It’s kind of amazing to think that people can buy Alka-Seltzer and risk squandering the stuff before they can have it on hand for a hangover–but maybe that’s just our skewed way of thinking. We’ve heard that Alka-Seltzer even has medical benefits outside of coming in handy after a very drinky night.
Still, we’re all about the fun here–from a classic David Letterman stunt to regular folks just clowning around in the internet age. Plop plop fizz fizz these videos and be grateful that this all we need Alka-Seltzer for today. (And, seriously, don’t give Alka-Seltzer to a bird, even if it is picking up food outside a White Castle, or Krystal’s if it’s in the South)…
