National Harvey Wallbanger Day was actually yesterday, but we’re not going to stop you if you want to make yourself one today as well.
The Harvey Wallbanger is a classic cocktail that has gone out of style over the past few years, but we think it’s due to make a comeback. This cocktail was supposedly invented in 1952 by famous mixologist Donato “Duke” Antone but was made famous by Galliano salesman George Bednar. If you weren’t aware, Galliano is yellow, Italian liqueur with a taste of Vanilla and herbs. The drink is reportedly named after a surfer who used to go to Duke’s bar on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. We’re guessing he would get a little “over-served” by Duke and crash into the bar walls on the way to the bathroom.
