Mt Eden is a New Zealand Dubstep production duo consisting of Jesse Cooper and Harley Rayner. Mt Eden is most notably known for their energetic live performances that get the crowd going and vibe with the environment they are playing in.
While they’ve been around for a few years (their single “Sierra Leone” has been a favorite of COEDitor Wyatt for a couple of years now), the group really started getting popular once they signed a multi-record deal with Ultra Records in 2012. This is good news for people just getting on the Mt. Eden bandwagon because (unlike a few other artists who have met recent success) these guys are already weathered veterans, seamlessly shifting from dubstep to drum’n’bass.
MTV agrees with me because they were just announced as one of their favorite “Artists to Watch.“
There’s a lot of really good UK garage (for lack of a better term) in New Zealand so we’re happy that at least one All Blacks group is finally being recognized. These two are well-deserving of what they’ve gotten.
The New Zealand crew is finishing their busy US tour with a performance at Electric Zoo 2013, so you know they’re excited. So are we. Enjoy EZ 2013 everybody. We’ll see you there!
