Saturday Cocktail: Shellback Rum Tiki Screwdriver
Throw some rum in your screwdriver instead of vodka this summer.
As a rite of passage, every college student must go on a booze cruise, preferably on Spring Break. There you get s**t tanked on rum and whatever island juices are available. After that booze cruise, you’re not exactly thrilled to mix rum with sugary beverages any time soon.
But if you put a little work into it, you can make a drink that’s a bit more sophisticated to your friends and your taste buds. Try the Tiki Screwdriver, which comes to us from the good drunk people at Shellback Rum, sponsor of the Oracle Team at this year’s America’s Cup. They’ve set up Shellback Rum Huts all over the country where you can try some weird concoctions with their silver rum. To find the Hut nearest you, check them out on Facebook. And if you’re feeling bold, give this recipe the old college try.
2 oz Shellback Silver Rum
1 ½ oz Passion Fruit Juice
1 oz Orange Juice
½ oz Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice
¼ oz Lemon Juice
¼ oz Grenadine – floated
Pineapple, Orange and Marschino Cherry garnish
