Somebody should’ve probably went on Scared Straight before his 18th birthday.
According to CBS Chicago, Amarri C. Bowens of Chicago was charged with felony theft because of his prior conviction for burglary and extensive criminal history. Bowens has been arrested 77 times and convicted 16 times for crimes including trespassing, cannabis possession, retail theft and illegally selling on CTA property. Bowens allegedly stole the box of Starbursts, worth $30, from a convenience store then fled on foot where he was caught in the alley shortly after by the authorities.
Because if there’s anything worthwhile stealing in the world for your golden 77th arrest and being charged with a felony, it’s a box of Starbursts. I have a feeling he’s going to be tasting more than the rainbow in prison. I don’t even care if that’s the slogan for Skittles, it’s staying.
Amarri still has a way to go to catch fellow Chicagoan and prison hall of famer Shermain Miles who has been arrested 396 times since 1978, but something tells me he’s not going to give up. This isn’t going to be the last we here of Amarri C. Bowens.
