What’s On Tap This Weekend: Blue Point Toasted Lager – A Great Lager Regardless Where It Is From!

Being from Philadelphia I normally don’t endorse many New York products. Maybe it is because of Philly’s little brother/forgotten child complex, as it is between New York and DC. Maybe it is because Philadelphia’s greatest cinematic sports hero loses. I don’ know, but regardless of my NYC bias, I have nothing bad to say about the brew that is on tap this weekend – Blue Point Brewing Company’s flagship beer – Toasted Lager.
Blue Point Brewing Company, Long Island New York, is one of those breweries that you have had a beer from you just might not know it; they are one of the top 50 producing breweries in the US and regardless of type of brew from their year rounds, to their seasonals, to their limited releases I have yet to come across a beer that I do not like from Blue Point. Toasted Lager is one of the best lagers on the market; it is low in ABV (5.5%) making it very drinkable. This is another brew that if you are just trying to get into drinking craft beers I would highly recommend giving it a try. You will notice the “toasted” smell of malt and just a bit of hops, as well as some caramel mixed in; nothing too overpowering.
You cannot go wrong with this lager. Even if you have very little game (speaking to the majority of you I am sure), last three seconds in bed, have a negative balance in your bank account, no job, no prospects, and no foreseeable reason to get up in the morning Toasted Lager just might turn into that reason (the next will be a trip to AA). Throw a steak on the grill, crack open a few Toasted Larger and enjoy the start of summer!
