There has been a serious shortage of women in comedy and I’m not just saying that because I still want to get laid again at some point before I die.
There are a ton of hilarious comedians who (despite what Jerry Lewis says about female comics) know how to find a joke and make it work no matter what form of genitalia God cursed them with before they entered into existence.
One of them is Amy Schumer who earned her comedy name on the stand-up circuit, the Comedy Central roasts and her album “Mostly Sex Stuff.” Now the blonde, bawdy bombshell will get to take another ride around the block with Comedy Central (not that kind of ride, sicko), according to a network press release.
“Inside Amy Schumer,” the sketch and stand-up show based on the twisted sex jokes of its host and creator, has been renewed for a second season. Variety reported that Schumer’s show scored the network’s highest opening ratings for the year among its key demographics and that’s mostly men between the ages of 18-34. Hopefully, this will pave the way for more female comics to get their own primetime comedy shows and should more than make up for the debacle that was NBC’s “Whitney.”
