What’s On Tap This Weekend: Nugget Nectar Ale [BEER REVIEW]
This is the first edition of “What’s On Tap?” our weekly feature on beers we think you’ll like, written by By The Professor JW Faulkner. You can follow him on Twitter here (@EngProfJW).
It’s spring time and besides sundresses, short skirts, and tighter shorts that also means it’s time to drink some new brews. This weekend put away that same old lager and Lite beer you have been drinking since you were out in a fied in high school or in your parents’ basement and grab a brew that tastes like spring.
Nugget Nectar Ale by Troegs Brewing Company, Hershey, PA, is an Imperial Amber Ale and is the perfect spring and summer time beer. It’s 7.5% ABV so it will have you feeling loose as a goose and ready to roll in no time (just like Henning’s). An awesome amber cloudy color and a great hoppy citrus taste this is great beer for hopheads, beer loves, and craft beer novices. Plus how badass do you sound at the bar? With everyone else saying, “Give me a bud light” Or when the smelly – non-deodorant wearing hipster orders a PBR, you can say, “Nugget Nectar.” Surely the good looking chick will then ask you, “Oh…what’s that?” And your opening line is already there for you. You’re welcome!
If your local bar sucks and doesn’t have it on tap pick up a 6 pack. If you are going to a back yard barbeque, this beer goes great with hamburgers or chicken. If you are not into hoppy beers, or haven’t had many, give Nugget Nectar a try. Smooth, crisp, and a hoppy citrus taste, Nugget Nectar is the perfect spring time beer! Oh but don’t be a douche and put an orange in it – no one has ever gotten laid putting a fruit in their beer.
