The brilliant dark comedy of the British film classic Trainspotting has left its fans begging for another hit and today we’ve learned that they are about to get their fix.
Director Danny Boyle, the man behind Slumdog Millionaire, 28 Days Later and 127 Hours, said in an interview that he’s working on a sequel to his critically acclaimed comedy that launched the careers of actors such as Ewan McGregor and Robert Carlyle. He revealed the good news at the South By Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas where he’s screening his latest movie, a heist flick called Trance starring James McAvoy and Rosario Dawson.
The sequel will be based on similar source material from the first film — in this case it’s from Irvine Welsh’s sequel to Trainspotting called Porno. It picks up on the lives of Renton, Sick Boy, Begbie and Spud 10 years after the first novel and sticks them in the seedy world of the pornography industry. So expect the same kind of dark, dirty fun from the first movie but with the added bonus of a higher probability of female nude scenes.
