If you’ve reached a point in your life where you’re robbing service stations to support yourself, chances are you don’t have a lot of money to spend on fancy disguises.

Sure, we’d all like to be classy and commit our robberies with top of the line ski masks, but not every heist is Oceans 11.

If you need cash and you need it fast, tossing a pair of underpants on your head to hide your identity seems like as good an idea as any. I mean, thieves have been using pantyhose for years, and that’s basically a form of underwear.

So that’s exactly what a man did in Australia. He robbed a service station with nothing more than a pair of underpants on his head. And he did quite well for himself: making off with money behind the register and a customer’s wallet.

But the big takeaway is that it worked. The “underwear bandit” is still on the loose.
