Quick. who makes these beers: Hoegaarden, Stella Artois, Franziskaner, Boddington’s, Busch and Rolling Rock?

If you guessed one company — Anheuser-Busch InBev — you’re right.

NPR’s Planet Money blog recently provided either a reminder or a revelation, depending on your beer knowledge, that two companies Anheuser-Busch InBev and SAB Miller are responsible for over 200 beer brands worldwide.

Even better, they distilled this phenomenon down to an infographic that shows the dominance of these companies in countries around the globe.

Sure, it’s not like all these beers are pouring out of the same pipeline in some evil headquarters located on an island in the Atlantic Ocean. And yes, there are plenty of good beers and plenty of not-so-good beers on the list. But it’s still interesting to understand who really controls the world beer market and where they’re sticking their paws.
