It’s fair to say that the last truly ingenious period in warfare was the Big One. During World War II, good guys were good, bad guys were bad and we all wanted to twist science to our advantage. You better have a helmet on, because I’m going to blow your mind with this one: Hitler tried to build a VORTEX CANNON. When shot into the clouds, the shell would create a vortex that could incapacitate planes and even make small tornadoes. Fortunately, targeting the shots was very difficult and the Nazis never had a chance to use it in combat. But just think about that for a minute.
