After all the pomp and circumstance, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue has finally hit newstands. Featuring the likes of models Kate Upton (in bodypaint), Hannah Davis and Nina Agdal and athletes Michelle Jenneke and Alana Blanchard, this year’s issue is sizing up to be one of the biggest and best yet.

Here’s a quick look at some interesting facts you might not know about SI‘s annual Swimsuit Issue since its inception in 1964.
