Drew Brees Is All About Positivity During The #PepsiHalftime Super Bowl

During last Sunday’s Super Bowl, Saints QB Drew Brees was considered the “unofficial ambassador” to New Orleans during the week’s festivities. Let’s be real, if Drew Brees ever decided to run for any kind of political office in New Orleans, he would probably win. Even though it’s slightly bittersweet to watch two other teams play the biggest game in the NFL on your hometown field, Brees seemed to take it in stride while being a part of the #PepsiHalftime Super Bowl festivities.

“I’m really excited about teaming up with Pepsi this year to give a fan a shot at winning a trip to the Super Bowl,” Brees said. “The fans have to follow some clues and unlock it using the #PepsiHalftime hashtag on the internet and enter themselves into a contest to win a trip to next year’s Super Bowl.”

The crazy part is that it’s not only Brees teaming up with Pepsi for this absolutely bonkers contest: “Yeah, we’ve got Beyonce, OneDirection, Victor Cruz and a bunch of pro athletes behind this and ready to give a fan the time of their lives next year.”

Besides teaming up with Pepsi though, his own Drew Brees foundation had a huge Super Bowl week as well:

“We’ve got a lot of corporate relations gigs that we’ve been taking advantage of as well as a big foundation party on Friday night that we’ve been planning for. It’s a charity concert featuring Nelly and Swizz Beatz that will raise money for Hurricane Sandy. Our foundation has committed $1 million to benefit organizations in the northeast that are trying to recover from Hurricane Sandy devastation. We’re just trying to make this week as positive as possible and spread awareness.”

Brees said that on Sunday morning “I’ve got a couple of appearance and I’ll be watching the game from home,” but we hope that he stays involved with New Orleans as much as possible. He’s pretty much the de facto King of NO and we hope he stays on the throne for as long as possible.
