Taylor Swift did a “casual” YouTube video about how excited she was to now be sponsored by Diet Coke.
But we’re not stupid: we know she’s a corporate shill…we’ve listened to her music before. This is not that surprising to us. But we find it kind of hilarious how hoppin’ mad Videogum blogger Gabe Delahaye got over the success of this video. We get it, viral marketing is annoying, and guerrilla marketing is evil. But it’s been going on long enough that we should be used to it by now, and it’s not going to stop. When your friends bring a new brand of sausage to a barbecue, they’re probably working for the sausage corporation. Get over it.
Also, it just shows you how trailer trash Taylor Swift and her fans are, and Coca Cola for that matter, that they would have her hucking Diet Coke instead of Coke Zero. The only people who still drink Diet Coke are mothers of seven to twelve living in double wides in the Bible Belt.
