As we reported a few months ago, Ultra Music Festival 2013 was supposed to take place over the period of two weekends. Now it seems like the City of Miami might not be too keen on that idea. According to the Miami New Times, Miami Commissioner Marc Sarnoff has introduced a new resolution “disapproving” of the second weekend of Ultra Music Festival. The resolution (which can be read here) aims to prohibit Bayfront Park from hosting the music festival March 22nd-24th.
From what we can tell, there’s not really much that the City of Miami is going to be able to do. People wanting to see the Swedish House Mafia’s last-ever performance, scheduled for March 24th, are probably pretty happy about that.
This potentially bad news comes only days after Ultra released the first wave of names to headline their festival.
UPDATE: This was all just a shake-up. Ultra is moving full-steam ahead as planned.
