The ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ Trailer Will Cause Heart Attacks For Nerds Worldwide [VIDEO]

The highly anticipated follow-up to every nerd’s favorite movie of the last 5 years, Star Trek, has a trailer and it is glorious.

After being shrouded in secrecy for the last 3 years since it’s initial announcement, the first footage from Star Trek Into Darkness lives up to the hype and positions the film as the most anticipated movie of next year. With all of the original cast returning, nerd-god Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, the upcoming Hobbit trilogy) looks like a major boss as the still-unnamed villain wrecking havoc all over the galaxy in his quest for vengeance. There are some major GIF-able moments peppered all throughout the trailer (The Enterprise crashes?!? What?!?), so expect the internet to explode later today.

Star Trek Into Darkness hits theaters on May 17th, 2013.
