7 Kids Shredding the Star-Spangled Banner in Honor of Jimi Hendrix’s 70th Birthday [VIDEOS]

Today would have been Jimi Hendrix’s 70th birthday. Unfortunately, like so many of our popular musicians, his life was cut short at age 27 by drugs and alcohol.

Nowadays, kids aren’t so into guitar as they used to be. Damn young’uns are into dumb bullshit like “EDM” and “sobriety.” The Guitar Hero fad has passed, and bands today write songs almost as bad as their names …like “fun.”

But everything runs in cycles. The blues one day shall return. We can only hope, in the words of Yoda (another dead guy), that “there is another.”

In tribute of Hendrix’s 70th, here are 7 kids rocking out on electric guitar, playing one of Jimi’s most signature songs: our national anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner.
