Washington Has Already Stopped Prosecuting People For Marijuana, So Smoke Up (Or At Least Possess Up)

The state of Washington’s marijuana legalization law doesn’t officially take effect until December 6th, but police in many parts of the state are saying that they’re already adhering to the policy. Which is good news for those of you who are holding. But not only are they not prosecuting future offenders (if you’re over the age of 21, young’uns) for having under an ounce of marijuana, some counties are also dropping all pending cases that have not yet been prosecuted. Aren’t those people glad the vote got rocked.

However, Gawker provides a helpful reminder: don’t yet walk up to the President and blow smoke in his stupid monkey face. He wouldn’t just have to sit there groovin’ on it because things like smoking pot in public and toking while driving are still very illegal. So don’t give up smoking in your basement quite yet.
