Mike’s Pick

What to choose for Halloween? There really aren’t any great “Halloween” songs (save Krispy Kreme’s latest entry into the cannon). But in an effort to fit the theme as closely as possible, I decided to choose the lead song from David Bowie’s super-underrated 1980 classic Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps). Bowie did much of his best work drugged up out of his mind and, in my humble opinion, no song shows him at his cracked out worse more than “It’s No Game (Part 1).” Japanese chatter and Bowie screaming for no real reason. Awesome.

Wyatt’s Pick

I really wanted to find something Halloween-y but chose not to due to lack of quality “Monster Mash” remixes and because I don’t want to put on “Thriller.” You’re going to hear that song enough as it is at tonight’s parties. Instead I’m going with a personal favorite of mine “Deal ‘Em” by Chris Malinchak. If you can get past the fact that you’re listening to what’s essentially modern disco, there’s nothing better to amp you up.
