By now you’ve probably heard of the leaked topless photos of Kate Middleton being printed in the French Magazine Closer. What you might not know is that numerous other publications in Ireland and Italy have followed suit, causing the Royal Family to take legal action. Just this week, Kate Middleton and Prince William filed a lawsuit against Closer in French Court and won ownership of the digital photos. For each day past September 19th Closer does not hand over the photos, the French rag will be fined $12,000. [lead image via Twitter]

But that’s not enough for William and Kate. In addition to winning the civil suit, the Royal Family is pressing additional criminal charges against the photographers responsible for taking the pictures. Below you’ll find what everyone’s getting all upset about.
