To most reporters covering his death, Sage Moonblood Stallone was just the troubled son of Sylvester Stallone. He was much more to film geeks. Sage was a genuinely cool guy who used his showbiz heritage to restore some of the greatest schlock films of all time. He helped run Grindhouse Releasing, which put out pristine copies of plenty of genuinely weird movies. Sage had a special obsession for lunatic Italian director Lucio Fulci–but Grindhouse put out all kinds of amazingly strange films. Here’s a sampling of some Grindhouse Releasing trailers that illustrate Sage’s important work. There’s good reason that Sage’s fellow gorehounds are honestly mourning this innovative entrepreneur. Sage Stallone, RIP–your work will be missed (and we know you’d be glad we have to give readers a WARNING that some of those videos at the Grindhouse link have some gruesome imagery)…
