Celebrate Father’s Day this Sunday by being thankful that your pops isn’t one of the worst dads in history. Be blessed for having a great dad – because history holds a whole gauntlet of dickhead dads. Sure, maybe your dad didn’t play catch with you all the time, but did he ever tell you he’d “cut you off like a gangrened limb,” and then have you tortured and killed?. Well, Peter the Great did. Needless to say, Peter the Great was a bad dad.

So be thankful this Father’s Day that your dad wasn’t one of the worst dad’s in the history of, well, history. Here’s our list of the worst fathers of all time!

      some of the more current entries, like Michael Jackson and Alec Baldwin, don't even feel like they belong on the same list as some others who raped/murdered their children.

      oedipus's dad didn't do the things that oedipus did, lossing isn't a word, and i agree with symon, verbal abuse and moronic tendencies don't amount to the things that some dads in history have done.

      Woody Allen was never Soon-Yi's father or stepfather. Nor is he the only man to get involved with his girlfriend's daughter. He and Mia never married. I suggest replacing him with John Phillips. He carried on an incestuous, drug-fuelled relationship with his daughter for years.

      Joseph Stalin should be on the list as well. When his son shot himself, the only thing that he said was, "He can't even shoot straight."
